Emerge hot yoga comes from the Bikram lineage, which was derived from Hatha yoga.  We offer multiple hot yoga classes each day at our studio in Ashland Oregon.  Emerge Hot Yoga also has a well-rounded balance of values in physical yoga, and spiritual teachings.  The Hot Yoga that we offer is the physical way of “Emerging” and the spiritual, mental and emotional way of “Emerging” is through our spiritual teachings.  Emerge Hot Yoga also offers hot yoga & spiritual studies classes, workshops, retreats, and offers private one on one sessions for couples or individuals to experience the emerge lifestyle.


Our Goals

To Emerge! Our teachings are dedicated to inspire and encourage Emerging lifestyles through the physical practice of Emerge Hot Yoga.  An Emerging lifestyle allows us to operate from an organically healthy, optimal and heart centered experience within the self, and within one’s society.  The spiritual awakened beliefs have been created by founders, teachers and married couple DeAnna & Jay Larkins.  To Emerge means to rise through the challenges in life, and realize who you are, and create from this place.


About the Owners

Jay Larkins is a devoted husband, Father, yogi, entrepreneur & mystical spiritual teacher.  Jay Larkins has 5 children and lots of fun stories!  His devotion to his family has made him into a spiritual guru and mystical teacher of life.  Jay was certified by Bikram Choudhry in 2011 to teach Bikram Yoga.  He has traveled around the world practicing and teaching yoga for over 8 years and is also a competitive national yogi.  He has spent lots of time with a multitude of great yogis, sharpening his skills over the years.  One of his greatest tools as a teacher is learning how to open the heart as a tool to achieve deeper back bends and an overall deeper yoga practice in class and in life.  Some of his deepest challenges and painful moments in life were the moments he kept his heart open and took a chance on the love in his heart, and thus his physical practice in class and in the real world, is one of an open heart, sharing love, wisdom and faith.  “Peace is something you find within and when you attain it, no one can give it to your or take it away, it is just there”-Jay Larkins. Jay & DeAnna opened up Emerge Hot Yoga & Spiritual Studies, to empower their yoga practice, and share their teachings with the loving open hearted community that they live in.

DeAnna Larkins is a loving wife, mother, author, yogi, dancer, teacher healer, Medical intuitive, and an entrepreneur.  She has one child and 4 other step children whom she adores!  DeAnna has been an intuitive since the age of 4 years old, working with her Father a Cardiologist, in his medical practice, assisting his patients by giving them intuitive readings related to their medical conditions.  By the time she hit her early 20’s, she had witnessed stage 4 cancer, chronic pain, and many chronic health scares in clients become completely healed through her intuitive guidance in healing the emotions.  She started practicing Bikram Yoga in 2008 due to a lower back injury and Bikram was the only modality that seemed to heal her spine, along with her own emotional release techniques.  By the time she was in her late 20’s she was teaching other Doctors how to relate the underlying emotional state of an individual with their medical condition. Many of the doctors at the Academy of Complementary Integrative Health were intrigued and began using these tools in their medical practices.  “Any pain or disease, comes from a genetic root of pain.  When we address the underlying emotions associated with this pain, then healing happens”- DeAnna Larkins.  DeAnna teaches the spiritual studies classes, and workshops.  For more about her book go to the online store.


What is Emerge Hot Yoga?

The precise sequence of 26 postures and two breathing exercises must be performed within 90 minutes in a heated (100-degrees-plus) room to allow the body to open new spaces, release tension, let go of blocks, stretch, detoxify, relieve stress, stimulate the immune system, tone, and heal chronic pain (such as arthritis, joint aches, knee injuries, back problems, and more). Really it’s about bringing out your true authentic self!  When we become present then we can be attuned to the high vibrational love that is always here for us, allowing the thoughts and blocks to be transmuted.

With hot yoga, you get all-over muscle building strength, flexibility, & mindfulness.  Hot yoga, also improves the lymphatic system and flushes out toxins.  Mentally this practice is amazing for developing equanimity in the face of adversity with the challenges of life.  Emerge hot yoga builds inner confidence and the feeling that there is nothing you can not accomplish.

Here are a few things to remember if this is your first time attending one of our classes:

  1. Stay Hydrated
    It is key to drink lots of water especially if you are not used to the hot yoga.  Drinking enough fluids is key for having the proper hydration to remain focused and centered during the whole class.  8 cups of water a day is a good amount of water to remain hydrated.
  2. Accepting the Heat
    This requires that you relax in the face of adversity and allow the heat to become a helpful sensation during this practice.  If you feel dizzy slow down, focus on your breath and take long, slow and deep breaths. Always be calm in listening to your body.
  3. Eating
    We recommend that you do not eat a large meal at-least 2 hours before class.  Eating on a full stomach can inhibit you from doing the postures with comfort and ease.  Eating something 10-30 min before class like 1/2 a banana, or some applesauce is a good energy boost.

A few more key points: Show up 5-10 min early, wear breathable material, don’t push your body, listen to your body, enjoy your breathing, smile in the mirror, let go of limiting thoughts, let go of your thoughts, be in the moment, love what you see in the mirror, sweat without needing to wipe your skin, focus on your own practice, relax your mind, breath, and schedule your next class!


Emerge hot yoga includes more than a style of yoga.  Our Emerge Spiritual Study classes/workshops & retreats are available in combination with hot yoga, to nurture and develop the hearts powerful connection within our internal and external lives. Unconditional love is the winner.  DeAnna and Jay Larkins channel the violet flame wherever they go, and the teachings of the violet flame are embedded in the logo design.  To find this feeling of divine love and eternal light, we have teachings that help to define the experience, as well as changelings from DeAnna Larkins, to assist us in feeling them.  The goal of the spiritual teachings is to find true peace and joy within.  The spiritual teachings of Emerge are created to inspire and nurture new societies that are empowered to be the example of health, love, compassion, peace, and sharing their transformational gifts, talents and abilities in the world.
